Small commercial equipment: what did you buy in July?

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in July and identified the 20 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new cars. Sales were slightly down last month.

In July, Ukrainians purchased 5,200 light commercial vehicles with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons. This is 3.7% more than in the same period last year, and 18.2% more than in June 2023.

The majority of small commercial cars were purchased on the domestic market in July: 4,000 (75.8%). 842 used LCVs (16.1%) were brought from abroad.

383 new imported LCVs were sold, another 36 registered light trucks were converted by Ukrainian enterprises from imported chassis or machine sets. Overall, new LCV sales accounted for 8% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased.

The most popular LCVs in the domestic market

Used vans (2,800 units), flatbed (192 units), sideboard awnings (159 units), cargo-passenger vans (152 units), and refrigerated vans (143 units) were most in demand in the domestic market.

For many years in a row , the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (632 units in June) has held the unchanging leadership in the domestic market. The chassis of this car is used for various superstructures, as well as being converted for various needs of small and medium-sized businesses, including being used as special equipment. In second place is the Russian GAZ 3302 "Gazelle" (349 units).

Renault Master took third place (340 units), and Ford Transit (245 units) took fourth place. Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Transporter (204 units).

The most popular used LCVs imported from abroad

From abroad, used vans (646 units), side-mounted awnings (62 units), refrigerated vans (50 units), hydraulic vans (23 units) and platforms (16 units) were most often brought from abroad.

Renault Master remains the leader of imported used LCVs (228 units), Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is in second place (221 units), and Volkswagen Crafter (76 units) is in third place.

Renault Traffic (65 units) and Renault Kangoo (59 units) also entered the top 5.

The most popular new LCVs

Among the new small commercial vehicles, the most popular were vans (309 units), refrigerator vans (14 units), on-board vans with a double cabin (14 units), emergency repair vehicles (6 units), as well as grain vans (2 units). .

Renault Master remains the leader of the new LCV segment in July. 85 such models were registered for the first time.

In second place, as last month, was Renault Express (53 units). The third place was taken by Ford Transit (51 units), and the fourth place by Volkswagen Crafter (18 units).

Rounding out the top five is the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (13 units).
