Sales of truck tractors are growing again, but fewer are being imported from abroad. Top 20 models

Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during June and identified the top models in three segments of truck tractors: used import, domestic resale, and new purchase.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

In June, Ukrainians bought 3,400 new and used truck tractors. This is 6.3% more than in the same period of last year 2022 and 13.3% more than in May 2023.

The share of domestic sales continues to grow. According to the results of June, it exceeded half ( 50.3% ) of all tractors purchased during the month. This figure was the highest since the full-scale invasion.

1,500 used ones were brought from abroad, which accounted for 43.4%.

6.3% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 211 units.

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF remained the most popular semi-trailer truck on the domestic market in June — 514 units of such models were sold, which is traditionally almost three times higher than the closest competitor  Renault Magnum (179 units), which moved up one position in June.

The third place was taken by the Volvo FH (170 units), dropping one step down, and the fourth place was taken by the MAN TGX (167 units). Rounding out the top five is Renault Premium (126 units).

The most popular used tractors brought from abroad

In June, the most used MAN TGX (509 units) was imported from abroad. These models have been leading the rating of "freshly driven" semi-trailer tractors with mileage for more than one month.

DAF XF is in second place (342 units), and Volvo FH is in third place (185 units). The fourth place was taken by Scania R-Series (96 units), and the fifth place by Mercedes-Benz Actros (60 units).

Thus, the first five have not changed at all compared to last month.

The most popular new tractors

In June, the first in terms of sales was the new Scania G-Series tractor unit (74 units), the second — Scania R-Series (39 units).

The third place was taken by DAF XF (34 units), and the fourth place by Volvo FH (19 units).

The fourth place was taken by Scania R-Series (21 units), and the fifth place by DAF XF (10 units).

Rounding out the top five is the new Mercedes-Benz Actros (17 units).
