Tractor units were bought more actively in May, but fewer were imported from abroad. Top 15 models
Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during May and identified the top models in three segments of truck tractors: import of used vehicles, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.
Dynamics of the truck tractor market
In May, Ukrainians bought 3,000 new and used truck tractors. This is 87.5% more than in the same period of last year 2022 and 3.4% more than in April 2023.
For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion (that is, from February-2022), the majority( 48.2% ) of all tractors were purchased on the domestic market — in quantity, it is slightly more than 1.4 thousand.
1,400 used units were also brought from abroad, but their share was smaller (47.3%) and continues to decrease.
4.5% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 133 units. This monthly indicator turned out to be the lowest since June 2022.
The most popular tractors on the domestic market.
DAF XF remains the most popular semi-trailer truck on the domestic market in May — 445 units of such models were sold, which is traditionally almost three times higher than the nearest competitor — Volvo FH (168 units). The latter rose two steps higher compared to the previous month.
The third step was taken by MAN TGX (164 units), and Renault Magnum (150 units) dropped to fourth place from the second place. Rounding out the top five is Renault Premium (126 units).

In May, used MAN TGXs (422 units) were most imported from abroad. These models have been leading the rating of "freshly driven" semi-trailer tractors with mileage for more than one month.
DAF XF is in second place (358 units), and Volvo FH is in third place (184 units).
The fourth place was taken by Scania R-Series (81 units), and the fifth place by Mercedes-Benz Actros (76 units).

The fourth place was taken by Scania R-Series (21 units), and the fifth place by DAF XF (10 units).
