In Ukraine, a record was set for sales of new small commercial equipment

Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine in April and identified the 15 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: used imports, domestic resales, and new car purchases.

LCV market dynamics

In April, Ukrainians purchased 4,800 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. This is 140% more than in the same period last year, and 7.7% more than in March 2023.

The majority of small commercial cars were purchased on the domestic market in April: 3.5 thousand (72.7%). 867 used LCVs (18%) were brought from abroad.

358 new imported LCVs were sold, another 91 sold light trucks were converted by Ukrainian enterprises from imported chassis or machine sets. Overall, new LCV sales accounted for 9.3% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased. This indicator turned out to be a record for the last 12 months.

The most popular LCVs in the domestic market

The leader in the domestic resale market of small commercial vehicles is traditionally the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (497 units), on the basis of which there are many modifications and superstructures for various needs. The second place in the rating is held by Renault Master (330 units), and the third place was taken by Ford Transit (+1 position, 235 units).

It is noteworthy that in April, interest in the Russian GAZ 3302 "Gazelle" decreased (214 units), which dropped one step down in the rating.

The popular Renault Kangoo (212 units) took the fifth place, pushing the Volkswagen Transporter (191 units) to the sixth place.

The most popular used LCVs imported from abroad

Renault Master remains the leader of imported used LCVs (223 units), Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is in second place (188 units), and Volkswagen Crafter (78 units) is in third place.

Renault Kangoo (48 units) and Renault Traffic (46 units) also entered the top 5.

The most popular new LCVs

Renault Express remains the leader of the new LCV segment in April, 96 such cars were registered for the first time, which is almost twice as much as last month.

Renault Master (55 units) took second place. Sales of Volkswagen Crafter, which placed on the third step, also increased(28 pcs., +2 positions).

Fourth place was taken by Peugeot Boxer (27 units, -2 positions).

Closes the first five Opel Combo (21 pcs.).

Among those converted in Ukraine, the largest number of RMS-PS police vehicles (based on Renault Master) were registered in April — 20 units.
