Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of registrations of "electric cars" in Ukraine during April and identified the top 15 models in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new electric cars.
Dynamics of the electric car market
In April, Ukrainians bought 3,300 new and used electric cars. This is 300% more than in April last year and 3% more than in March-2023. This number of sales turned out to be a new record for sales of electric cars in Ukraine.
Among the total number of electric cars in April, 98.8% were cars, 1.2% were trucks (41 units).
The majority of electric cars ( 48.4%, 1,598 units) were brought used from abroad, therefore, the import of cars with mileage will continue to be the main source of replenishment of the Ukrainian fleet of electric cars.
On the domestic market, 38.4% of the total number of sold cars with an electric motor (1,269 units) were purchased.
13.1% of cars (434 units) were bought new. Thus, after growing for seven consecutive months, the share of new electric cars decreased.
As of the end of April 2023 , the total fleet of motor vehicles with an electric engine is 55,267 units registered in Ukraine (taking into account those removed from the register due to scrapping and export abroad): 53,318 cars, 1,944 trucks and 5 buses.
