Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine in March and identified the 15 most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: import of used cars, domestic resale and purchase of new cars.
LCV market dynamics
In March, Ukrainians purchased 5,200 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. This is 1,633.3% more than in the same period last year, and 26.8% more than in February 2023.
The majority of small commercial cars were purchased on the domestic market in March: 4,000 (76.7%). 928 used LCVs (18%) were brought from abroad.
258 new imported LCVs were sold, another 16 sold light trucks were converted by Ukrainian enterprises. Overall, new LCV sales accounted for 5.3% of the total number of small commercial vehicles purchased.
Thus, the sales volume of small commercial is gradually moving towards the indicators of the period before February 24, 2022. So, in March 2021, Ukrainians purchased 6,100 LCVs, which is only 14% less.
The most popular LCVs in the domestic market
The leader in the domestic resale market of small commercial vehicles remains the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (586 units), based on which there are many modifications and superstructures for various needs. The second place in the rating is traditionally occupied by the Renault Master (377 units), and the third place was taken by the Russian GAZ 3302 "Gazelle" (259 units), which has risen in the rating for the third month in a row.
The fourth step was taken by Ford Transit (-1 position, 235 units).
The popular Volkswagen Transporter (174 units) continues to fall in the rating (-1 position) and according to the results of March took the fifth place.

Renault Master remains the leader of imported used LCVs (282 units), Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is in second place (176 units), and Volkswagen Crafter (68 units) is in third place.
Renault Traffic (54 units) and Renault Kangoo (49 units) also entered the top 5.

Renault Express became the leader of the new LCV segment in March, 52 such cars were registered for the first time.
Peugeot Boxer took second place, in March 21 this model received Ukrainian license plates for the first time.
The third step was taken by Renault Master (20 units), and the fourth by Citroen Berlingo (15 units).
Rounding out the top five is the Volkswagen Crafter (11 units).
