The market of truck tractors has stabilized. Results of February

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during February. and identified the top models in three segments of truck tractors: used import, domestic resale and new purchase.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

In February, Ukrainians bought 3,300 new and used truck tractors. This is 37.5% more than in the same period last year in 2022 and almost the same as in January 2023. That is, after the fall in sales, which lasted for four months in a row, the tractor truck market stabilized.

Majority( 51.5% ) of all tractors were brought used from abroad (1.7 thousand units).

1.5 thousand units were purchased on the domestic market, which is 43.6% of the total number.

4.9% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 163 units.

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF became the most popular semi-trailer truck on the domestic market in February — 413 contracts were concluded with these models, which traditionally more than doubles the figures of the nearest competitor   — Volvo FH (166 units).

The third step of the rating was taken by MAN TGX (152 units), and the fourth — Renault Magnum (158 units). Rounding out the top five is Renault Premium (114 units).

The most popular used tractors brought from abroad

In February, the DAF XF (826 units) turned out to be the most popular for "recruitment" from abroad. MAN TGX took second place (685 units), and Volvo FH (400 units) took third place.

The fourth step was taken by Renault Magnum (200 units), and the fifth place by Scania R-Series (183 units).

The most popular new tractors

The number of sales of new truck tractors in Ukraine is insignificant: first of all, due to the difficult economic situation and low purchasing power.

The Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor unit (50 units) became the first in terms of sales. The second step was taken by Volvo FH (39 units), and the third by DAF XF (29 units).

Scania R-Series and MAN TGX shared the fourth and fifth place with the same number (9 units).
