What type of fuel do Ukrainians choose? Results of January

Auto stats

The preferences of Ukrainians when choosing a car by fuel type remain stable. Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research determined how the shares of cars from the point of view of fuel among domestic resales, imports of used cars and sales of new cars changed in January, which were the most popular models in each of the segments, as well as the dynamics of installation of gas cylinder equipment.

General dynamics of passenger car sales by fuel type

During January 2023, Ukrainians most often chose gasoline cars. They were purchased by 43.1% of the total number of new and used cars (34.9 thousand). If we add to them cars with installed HBO ( 19.2%, 26.5 thousand) and cars with hybrid engines ( 2%, 1.6 thousand), then gasoline cars will make up the absolute majority: 64.3% of the total number of sales.

The share of diesel cars was 32.8% (26.5 thousand). There were 0.4% of the total number (335 units) of machines equipped with an engine for working exclusively on gas fuel.
