Most motor vehicles are bought new in the future. Results of January

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of motorcycle registrations in January and identified the top models in three segments: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new motorcycles and mopeds.

Dynamics of the motorcycle market

In January, Ukrainians purchased 1,600 motorcycles and mopeds. This is −31% less than in January last year and −9.6% less than in December 2022.

The segment of motor vehicles is the only one in the modern car market of Ukraine, where the majority are sales of new vehicles. Thus, in January, 54.9% of motorcycles and mopeds were new (imported from abroad). Quantitatively, it is 892 pieces.

Almost 600 contracts for the purchase of motorcycle equipment were concluded on the domestic market, which accounted for 36.4% of the total number.

Only 8.7% of the total number of motorcycles and mopeds purchased in January were imported used from abroad (141 units).

The most popular motorcycles and mopeds on the domestic market

The Jawa 350 motorcycle (310 units) was bought the most in January on the domestic market. Yamaha Drag Star 400 (208 units) took second place, and Shineray XY250 (207 units) took third place.

Loncin LX250 (191 units) and Lifan LF150 (166 units) also made it to the top five.

The most popular used motorcycles and mopeds brought from abroad

Few used motorcycles and mopeds are imported from abroad. In January, the most imported Honda CB500 (15 pcs.) In second place are scooters from the Yamaha Jog family (14 units). Another scooter was placed on the third — Honda Dio (10 pcs.).

Suzuki Address V125 (4 pcs.) and Yamaha Majesty 250 (4 pcs.) were also brought.

The most popular new motorcycles and mopeds

Motorcycles of Chinese manufacturers are mostly bought new in Ukraine. So, Lifan LF175 (64 units) was the first, and Musstang MT125 (54 units) was the second. The third step was taken by Spark SP125C (49 units).

Bajaj Boxer BM 150 (40 units) and Spark SP200 (28 units) also made it into the top five.
