Tractor unit sales fall after summer peak. Top models of November

Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during November and identified the top models in three segments of semi-trailer trucks: import of used vehicles, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

In November 2022, Ukrainians purchased 3,700 new and used truck tractors. This is 51.3% more than in the same period of last year 2021 and -8.3% less than in October 2022. In general, after the peak of sales in September, when more than 4,400 tractors were sold, the indicators of this market segment are falling for the third month in a row.

The majority (55.8%) of all tractors were brought used from abroad (2.1 thousand units), another 39.3% were bought on the domestic market (1.5 thousand units).

4.9% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 182 units.

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF became the most popular model of used tractor unit on the domestic market in October, 388 sales contracts of these models were concluded on the market. The second step of the rating was taken by Renault Magnum (196 units), and the third by Volvo FH (170 units).

MAN TGX (169 units) and Renault Premium (124 units) were also popular.

The most popular used tractors brought from abroad

In October, DAF XF (1 thousand units) turned out to be the most popular for purchase abroad. MAN TGX took second place (803 units), and Volvo FH came third (521 units).

The fourth place was taken by Renault Magnum (259 units), and the fifth place by Scania R-Series (217 units).

Mercedes-Benz Actros (55 units) became the leader in sales of new truck tractors. Second place was taken by Volvo FH (33 units), and third place was taken by MAN TGX (32 units).

DAF XF became the fourth (22 units), and Scania R-Series (13 units) closes the top five.
