Sales of small commercial equipment are falling. October results
Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine in October and identified the most popular models of small commercial vehicles in three segments: used import, domestic resale, and new car purchases.
LCV market dynamics
In September, Ukrainians purchased 4,000 light commercial vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons. This is -35.8% less than in the same period last year, and 12.4% less than in September 2022.
The majority of small commercial cars in September 2022 were purchased on the domestic market: 3.1 thousand (78.3%). This is the highest figure in the last 12 months. The redistribution of shares occurred as a result of the decline in other market segments, especially sales of new LCVs.
Only 710 used LCVs were imported from abroad, which is -53% less than a year earlier and -10.9% less than in September 2022.
Only 161 light trucks were purchased new, which is 4% of the total number of sales transactions. The decline in sales in this market segment is the largest: -81.1%, if compared with October 2021. If we compare with September 2022, then sales were recorded by 44.1% less.
