Experts from the Institute of Auto Market Research analyzed vehicle registration statistics in Ukraine and identified the most popular models in three segments of trucks weighing over 3.5 tons (except for tractor units) : used imports, domestic resales, and purchases of new cars, including those converted in Ukraine.
Truck market dynamics
The market volume of trucks with a gross weight of over 3500 kg in April 2025 amounted to 1,7 thousand units. Compared to March of the same year, this is 5.7% less, and 52.2% less compared to April 2024. However, it is worth noting that the numbers for April-May of last year cannot be considered indicative values, since the total market volumes there were increased under the influence of legislative changes. The structure of this segment is as follows: 75.6% (1294 units) — domestic resales, 13.4% (230 units) — imports of used trucks; 3% (52 units) — imports of new trucks, 7.9% (136 units) — sales of trucks manufactured (or converted in the factory) in Ukraine. The total share of new vehicles in this group was 10.9%.
The dynamics by individual subsegments, the shares of which were just given, are as follows:
- Domestic resales: −2.3% MM, −58.2% YY
- Used imports: −7.6% MM, −2.5% YY
- New imports: −16.1% MM, −30.7% YY
- Made in Ukraine: −24.9% MM, −20.0% YY
Top 10 trucks in the domestic market
The most popular type in this subsegment was dump trucks, with stable demand for vans and flatbed versions.
Among individual models , the Mercedes-Benz Atego took first place, followed by the Scania P-Series in second place, andthe third one is Iveco Daily.
Top 10 imported trucks with mileage
Most often, the Ukrainian fleet last year was replenished with tail lift vans, regular vans, and refrigerated vans.

The top three new arrivals trucks look like this: Mercedes-Benz Atego in first place, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in second, and MAN TGL in third position.
Top 10 new trucks
Among new trucks with a gross vehicle weight of over 3.5 tons, the greatest demand was observed for truck cranes, dump trucks, and vans.
Among individual models, the leader was the Citroen Jumper converted by the Reform company, the second position was taken by the collection van based on the Ford Transit, which after conversion received a new index VD C3/M3 FTCC. The third place went to the Iveco T-Way.
In general, among the new 3.5+T class trucks, the most popular models were mainly various special vehicles converted (or retrofitted) by local enterprises based on imported chassis from other automakers.
