As NaftoRynok reports, the average price of liquefied gas at gas stations in October increased by UAH 1.87/l, reaching the highest value since mid-December 2023 at UAH 34.60/l.
Operators continued to increase prices, adapting to the new excise tax rates introduced on September 1.
However, growth in October was less than in September, and the market almost froze in the last week of the month. This indicates the completion of the adaptation period, after which prices stabilized at the forecasted level of UAH 34-35/l. At some gas stations, the price has risen to UAH 36/l, and the lowest offers mostly start at UAH 31/l. In general, since the end of August, the average price of gas at gas stations has increased by more than UAH 6/liter.
Also last month, fuel retail representatives and consumers witnessed record discounts on fuel in the largest chains on the weekend of October 19-20.
On Saturday morning, OKKO announced the establishment of fuel discounts of up to UAH 6/l. A few hours later, WOG, UPG, BRSM-Nafta, KLO and Marshal reported similar offers. On Monday, not everyone finished the weekend promotion, and in some networks fuel could still be purchased at a discount.
According to a preliminary assessment, the initiative was not successful, because the drivers were not ready for discounts. In addition, such manifestations could be the result of a fall in sales, which in September reached 6.0%, and in comparison with the record indicators of July — 10.4%.
However, this initiative contributed to a further decrease in the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel in most networks. At OKKO, WOG, Shell, SOCAR, BVS gas stations, gasoline has become cheaper by UAH 2/l, diesel fuel by UAH 1/l. Subsequently, the indicators on the ceilings were also adjusted by small operators. It should be noted that the intensive movement of gasoline and diesel prices at gas stations in October was observed for the first time since May.
As a result, the average price of A-95 gasoline in October decreased by UAH 0.82/l, to UAH 55.73/l. The price of diesel fuel fell by UAH 0.99/l to the lowest level since the end of February at UAH 51.69/l.
