Motorcycles and mopeds: what did Ukrainians buy in October?

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of motorcycle registrations in October and identified the most popular models in three segments: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new motorcycles and mopeds. What is the market situation at the end of the motorcycle season?

Dynamics of the motorcycle market

In October, Ukrainians purchased 4,400 motorcycles and mopeds. This is 37.5% more than in the same period last year, and 29% less than in September 2023.

Among the total number of motorcycles and mopeds, 56.1% were new (imported from abroad), amounting to 2.4 thousand pieces. The motor vehicle segment remains the only one on the Ukrainian car market, where the majority of deals are sales of new vehicles.

1,500 motor vehicle purchase and sale agreements were concluded on the domestic market, which accounted for 33.2% of the total number.

Only 10.6% were imported used from abroad (462 units).

The most popular motorcycles and mopeds on the domestic market

In the domestic market, the following brands prevailed among motorcycle manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda and Geon.

Among the models, Lifan of the LF series (72 units) turned out to be the most popular. In second place is the "classic" Jawa-350 (50 units), in third place is the Loncin LX series (39 units).

The most popular used motorcycles and mopeds brought from abroad

In October, there were not enough manufacturers in the import segment to make up the classic twenty most popular. After all, it is quite logical — seasonality is indicated. In general, imports in the "moto" segment were held by such brands as Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki.

Among the models most often imported were Yamaha JOG (88 units), Honda DIO (50 units) and Yamaha Gear (27 units).

The most popular new motorcycles and mopeds

In Ukraine, mainly Chinese manufacturers buy new motorcycles: in October , Spark, Musstang and Lifan brands became the leaders.

Among the models, Spark SP-series won the championship (411 units), Musstang MT took second place (348 units), and Lifan LF (225 units) took third place.
