Motorcycles and mopeds: what did Ukrainians buy in July?

Experts of the Auto Market Research Institute analyzed the statistics of motorcycle registrations in July and identified the top models in three segments: import of used, domestic resale and purchase of new motorcycles and mopeds. The indicators were the highest since July 2021.

Dynamics of the motorcycle market

In July, Ukrainians purchased 7,800 motorcycles and mopeds. This is 9.9% more than in the same period last year, and 3.7% less than in June 2023.

Among the total number , 57.7% of motorcycles and mopeds were new (imported from abroad), amounting to 4.5 thousand pieces. The motor vehicle segment remains the only one on the Ukrainian car market, where the majority of deals are sales of new vehicles.

2.5 thousand contracts for the purchase and sale of motorcycle equipment were concluded on the domestic market, which accounted for 32.2% of the total number.

Only 10.1% were imported used from abroad (784 units).

The most popular motorcycles and mopeds on the domestic market

Honda (15.2%), Yamaha (12.9%) and Suzuki (7.5%) were the most popular on the domestic market among motor vehicles in July.

Among the models, the most popular was the Jawa 350 (80 units). Lifan LF175 (40 units) took second place, and KMZ Dnipro MT-11 (40 units) took third place.

The most popular used motorcycles and mopeds brought from abroad

In July, used Yamaha (35.2%), Honda (29.6%) and Suzuki (19.4%) were most imported from abroad.

Among the models, Yamaha Jog (134 pcs.) had the greatest demand. In second place is Honda Dio (62 units). Suzuki Lets (33 pcs.) placed third.

The most popular new motorcycles and mopeds

New motorcycles of Chinese manufacturers are mainly bought in Ukraine: in July, the brands Musstang (17.4%), Lifan (14.9%) and Spark (8.2%) became the leaders.

Among the models, the first was the Mustang MT125 (382 units). The second place was taken by Tekken 250 (282 pcs.), and the third place by Lifan LF175 (257 pcs.)
