Which cars were the most expensive and the cheapest in 2022. Rating

Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research processed the array of car sales announcement data for 2022, provided by the Automoto.ua aggregator, and compiled the top 15 car models with the lowest and highest average prices. We took into account only mass-market cars, the number of sales of which was at least 50. That is, the ranking did not include individual sales of ultra-expensive or super-cheap cars, but global market trends were determined.

Top 15 cheapest cars in Ukraine in 2022

According to the results of 2022, the cheapest car in Ukraine turned out to be Zaporozhets ZAZ-968, with an average price of $347 and an average age of 34.9 years. Second place went to Moskvich 2140 (average price $413, average age 39 years ), and third was another Moskvich, 412, with an average age of 37.7 years and an average price of $420.

It is noteworthy that 14 out of 15 cars of the lowest price segment in Ukraine have an average age of over 30 years, and half of them (8 out of 15) are over 40 years old. The youngest was "Tavria" ZAZ 1140 (25.5 years old). The oldest is Moskvich 402 (average age 60.4 years). In general, all the cheapest models on the market in 2022 are the legacy of the Soviet automobile industry, technically and morally outdated, which is gradually being replaced by imported cars from abroad.

Top 15 most expensive cars in Ukraine in 2022

BMW X7 turned out to be the most expensive model among used cars on the market. Its average price was $93,999, for a car with an average age of 2.2 years. In second place was Audi Q8 (average price $74,500, average age 2.7 years ), and in third place — Audi E-Tron ($67,000, 1.9 years ).

8. Mercedes-Benz G-Class — $56,500 , 11.5 years old
9. Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class — $53,750 , 4 years
10. Porsche Macan — $46,450 , 4.8 years old
11. Volkswagen ID.4 — $39,900 , 0.6 years old
12. Tesla Model 3 — $39,450 , 3 years
13. Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class — $38,800 , 4 years

In the list of the most expensive cars, there were mainly elite cars under 5 years old. The first four positions are cars of the segment "almost new" cars up to 3 years old.

The youngest among the most expensive in 2022 was the Volkswagen ID.4 with an average age of 0.6 years, i.e. these cars are sold practically new, and the oldest is the Mercedes-Benz G-Class (average age of 11.5 years).
